HELP! I really need your help. I have been working on my model and i cant get the canopy to line up with the actual fusalarge. The egde curve up and dont match. Im using 3DS Max 5. Can anyone help me?? I started by just making a thin box over the top and dropping it on top basically and modelling it to look right. I then mesh smoothed it to make it more curved and thats where it all went wrong. How should I start off the actual canopy? Any suggestion welcome and greatly appreciated.

Many times the canopies are generally "formed" as part of the surrounding fuselage and split off...
Depending on the plane you're modelling (and I'm thinking of late '30s aeroplanes here), of course, you could model it separately, as you're doing, and a slight "non-fit" is perfectly acceptable and expected.
If you're modelling a jet fighter, then, the best way is the "split part".
What program are you using?

Go to the FFDS site in either mine or Felix's signatures and find the tutorials section. Check out all the Gmax tutorials, as they should be compatible with 3DS Max 5.
You could also use the snap tool. Set the snap to vertex and you can move the vertices on one object around, and they will "snap" to vertices on another object.
