Great pics, and it seems I learn something new every day. I had never seen an RAF Mustang other than Mk Is or A-36As with out the Malcom hood, untill the MKIV. Interesting roundels on the Corsair.

Thanks Fido, glad you like the shots Grin
All the Mk III's arived with the standard hood but British pilots did not like the lack of head room and so the Malcolm hood was retro fitted to most RAF and also USAAF Mustangs in the field.
The roundels on the Corsair are British Pacific Fleet markings. Because of the chances of "blue on blue" incidents caused by British and Jap roundels having lots of red in them, British types operating in the Pacific theater used either small two tone blue (RAF) or US style markings (RN). There were some variations, but this is a common style.

Indeed it is Grin Both the MkIII and the MkIV have 442 markings but I tend to think the nose is the wrong colour. They do look rather nich though.
