The P-51D Mustang 1944 model.
The P-51 just became available to fly in IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles. There is also a spitfire lined up for the next patch yummy 8)
I thought I'd give a little review of how I thought it handled. Now I'll by praising the thing on its impressive speed this thing seems to cruise along at about 460 miles per hour. One draw back is the laminar flow wing that gives it a nasty stall that appears all to often in tight furballs. This means at heart the plane is a perfect Zoom n' boom fighter. I found this to be the only tactic that worked against the more forgiving Bf-109K fighters. That brings me to the aircrafts main weakness...... the arnament. granted it has 10 machine guns but where are the cannons? there just isn't enough punch in the machine guns. It means you have wear down your opponant by doing fast pass after fast pass and it just doesn't feel as satisfying as completely dusting your opposition with the 109K-4's Huge 60mm cannon.
A nice plane and the range and speed more than makes up for the lack of decent guns. 8)

I've heard mixed reviews, but once I get my new computer, I think I'll get it. It seems like FS2004 (- a few things) with guns!
