Well, it's official. Winter is here and I got my first cold of the season. Even better, 2 year old Olivia and I are sharing the experience, although she is not as bad. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before her brothers catch it too.
So, what do you do for a cold and how long do they usually last? For me, it's usually cover up and stay in bed (I'm not now) and LOTS of Nyquil.

I can't even remember the last time I got a head cold. I think i've only had one within the last year, and it lasted for only a day or so 8)

Drink lots of tea with lemon and sugar in it, and have a shot of something v.strong like whiskey before I go to bed to kill the germs overnight. The theory being the alcohol is stonger than them
Seems to work for me 8)
Get well soon mate

Generally speaking, men make more fuss over a cold than the average woman. The old joke that men have flu while women only get the sniffles has some truth in it. I find the best thing is to take a couple of aspirin or my Mum's old remedy of a whisky & hot water with sugar in it, before going to bed.
We weren't allowed to be ill in my company & were expected to struggle in almost from a death bed. I never thought this was such a good idea as it spread whatever disease you might have to the rest of the employees. Touch wood & whistle, I usually get one bad cold a year, some time after Christmas.

I don't know; I just know I hate breathing through my mouth and the feeling of snot running down the back of my throat. If that makes me a wuss then so be it!

Not to get a cold, you should eat a lot of oranges, but not to much, or you'll be expieriencing some other troubles! But it keeps me healthy in winter.
Or try to get adjusted to the weather, like flying with an open canopy

Omag has a point. Go out & get some fresh air. I feel that central heating/air conditioning has a lot to answer for. Most people have it set far too high/low for my own personal comfort. In my young days nobody had either & everyone was much less prone to colds & other complaints.
