PLEASE... IF YOU VOTE, POST A REPLY!

I love this utility... it is far superior to the earlier versions (for FS2002).

The only things I would like to see added (at this point) it to be able to manipulate the placement of taxiway signs, and the ability to manipulate the helipads (in the help file, Mr. Swordy has stated future releases will have this ability).

This is one add-on I wouldn't paying a small sum for!

If you don't have the newest version, get it!!! Available here at SimV.

It's brilliant, simply put! I'm so glad they did away with that overlay stuff. The things i like most are the parking codes and the ability to make seperate take off and landing runways without that overlay rubbish. I've made my home airtport far more efficiant and i have my cargo planes parking at all my new cargo building macros at CYVR (to be releast soon). Smiley

I definately agree with you TJ.  I tried to revamp my home airport (KCCR) but when I put taxiways where they belonged, I ended up with taxiway signs in the middle... Other than that, it came out great.

Hi I think AFCAD ROCKS !
Do You know that an update is allready out ?
You can find it here http://63.217.28.218/files/1misc/AFCAD211.zip

Ya can now fill in missing apron spots.
My only wish is that I could do work like Lee Swordy I would not even know where to start.

I like the ability that I can move the taxiways and stuff because M$ did such an excellent job in designing my home airport (not!) that I get to go mess it up!

I am doing EHAM for AFCAD2 v2.04, since the PAI one takes to long to come out for my patience  Angry. I didn't yet use the new version, only DL'ed yesterday.

Apron's are pretty okay at EHAM, as is the whole airport done by MS!
Personally, I can't wait for us the be able to put ILS's to extra runways and the ability to be able to use multiple runways that are NOT parallel. For that, I am very patient. Mr Swordy is the man, imo  Kiss!

The only visual elements that you can add right now DAZ are aprons, runways, taxiways and change the lighting.  You can also move taxiways and runways (the only problem with it... if you move them, you may end up with a taxiway sign in the middle of them).  You can't manipulate helipads or taxiway signs nor can you add them at this time (according to the text provided with AFCAD 2.11, the next release should take care of the last two issues).  Also, you can create your own airport (taxiways, runways, aprons, lights, frequencies, etc). However, you can't add scenery such as buildings or control tower, etc with AFCAD.

i have started playing about with this and its very very good i added another terminal to shannon airport in ireland and the AI park there now -- seems more busy aswell seems ms didnt put enough parking places in this airport for all the PAI that fly in and out... without a doubt the best utility out there at this moment Cheesy

Someone here at SimV posted a link to another set of forums, but anyways... that isn't the issue, if you email Lee Swordy you can Beta test AFCAD 2.2.  For info regarding it... click here http://www.flightsimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7312

I SIMPLY LOVE IT but it would be 10 times better if it had a scenery editor as well i.e.:creating and deleting buildings....

aescobar: I was abit confussed when I first saw this thread untill I noticed that it was started nearly a year ago. I've been using 2.21 for  6 or 7 months now.

As for deleting buildings you can use an exclude switch, that works fine for me, as for taxiway signs they too can be excluded and then using the SDKs from M$ new ones can be made and placed in the right locations.

I love it......I'm new to FS9 (just got it last week). The ability to add/remove/move taxiways & aprons is awesome. coded airline & type parking is really cool ( I can't wait to add cargo flights and not have them show-up at the terminal).  I haven't messed with any runway settings (TO's & landings) yet. I used it to retrofit an airport I made for FS2002. I deleted all the taxiways, aprons, etc. and used AFCAD2 instead and it look a whole lot better. So far I'd rate it "*****!" DougD
