Janes WWII Fighters may not be the latest game out there, but damn is it good.
When you are pulling Gs your head is moving in the cockpit view as your vision is affected. Just like real life. I think the CFS guys should try this, they could learn a lot Shocked Shocked Shocked

LOL Ozzy that does look good. Is that an addon or a default?

WWII Fighters was my first combat sim. I found it a tad limited & always thought the graphics was the best thing about it. I didn't think it was possible to install 3rd party stuff. It certainly wasn't when I was using it. I ditched it after dicovering the open architecture capability of CFS1. That was when I first found "The Strip" back in 1999. Happy days. Wink

Its the default, but much as I hate to say it, its v.playable. This is the version for Win 95/98, and it plays great. I don't know about expansion, I've only just installed it, but I'll keep you posted. I think I may need to do some online combat with Pip Grin

Nice pics Mark.  The color in the cockpit looks a bit off.  On my machine it looks darker.

Put those screenies against anything from CFS3 and then consider this sim first appeared in 1998 and I think you'll be in for the shock of your life.  The damage effects are pretty cool and it even has a few little surprises CFS doesn't.

No, all in all, WWII fighters has held up quite well over the years.   Smiley

When I first installed CFS3 (& finally got it to run) my first thought was "This looks familiar - ah I know, Jane's WWII Fighters". I no longer have either installed but my opinion hasn't changed. Despite their faults I'll take CFS2 or CFS1 any day. 8)
