Hey all,

first time for me to fiddle with traffic in FS2004, so hope this isn't too dumb a question:
I installed a scenery addition to an airport which incorporates traffic. But as it says in the readme, some runways are closed, leaving only two for (totally unrealistic) take-off's and landings. Seems this traffic-regulation was coded along with the scenery.

So I am wondering, can I disable or undo the traffic-changes in the scenery BGL, without turning off the visible scenery? Can I have the visuals without the traffic, but instead use my own AFCAD & TTools traffic?

If I disable the sceneryBGL by renaming it, the visuals are gone. But when I have my AFCAD2 BGL for the airport placed in the ../../addon scenery/scenery folder while the scenery is active, the traffic still follows the pattern of the 'scenery rules'.

Now I know, the solution would be to create the scenery myself, but I don't have knowledge in that area. When using AFCAD2 to add some taxiways and an extra runway, I have a problem with the runway 'going into the landscape', leaving me without approach lighting (cause it is below the terrain level) so that is no solution either.

I hope someone knows what i am babbling about and can help me. If not, ah well, I'll leave the scenery out for now.

Thanks, JW!

It sounds like you just need to reword the AFCAD for the scenery.  You should be able to open up more runways in afcad.

Well, that's just it.
If I put the AFCAD2 file for the field in the scenery folder, the traffic set by the scenery is still overruling the AFCAD2 traffic! Meaning, I can close runways or open others up by means of the AFCAD BGL, it has no effect whatsoever. Traffic keeps landing and taking off from those rwy's set in the scenery file. At least, that's how I percieve it, I may be seeing things the wrong way.

Scenery .bgl's cannot add ANY AI traffic data whatsoever. You can add runways and so on, but the AI traffic will not use them as they havn't been added by AFCAD2. Just leave out the AFCAD2 .bgl and your default settup should be in use, the scenery .bgl shouldn't effect anything.

Thanks for the help TJ_Gumby, it turned out the way you said it would  Cheesy. I removed the traffic BGL, it returned things to normal (well, the way MS designed it  Wink).

I now created a complete new traffic BGL with AFCAD2, which works great, even managed to get the right types and companies at the right gates! Except for 1 thing...
I can't get the aircrafts to use a different runway.

Whether I set the wind to cross or even from behind, traffic will still use the default runways. Those are the 2 runways in use with only default traffic. Even if I close these two runways and open all others, they'll still use the 2 default ones  ??? Have I missed something, still?

Runway assignments are something i'm still trying to figure out myself. I've made new airports that ai will use, but havn't added any new runways to default airports. One thing i have done in AFCAD2, is make one runway landing only and the other take off only. This makes the airport far more efficiant.
