step 1:
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=screen;action=display;num=...

that helps a lot doesn't it
Step 1,5(probably the most important one)
the heading gyro needs to be set in the correct position. the leftmost knob on the gyro panel does that. align the digits that appear when clicking with the Shift-Z heading reading

Step 2:
the 3 pos switch selects which thing does the heading.
Middle mode selects the big turn thingie on top
lowest mode is heading

Step 3 (advanced AP-24 hacking)
Autopilot has a special mode, triggered by the stick trigger. hold trigger to disable, let loose trigger -> autopilot flies like you steered it.

And if you are really ready for it... try the same route as in this post. all but the steepest turns on autopilot

Boris,

How can you fly the Antov 24R, when all the information I got was in Russian? How do you turn on the HSI and other guages, let alone figure out the Autopilot?
Is there some downlaod that will give us a manual on this plane in English?
I think the Auto pilot would work easier if we had the items in English.
This plane flies and looks great, but all done without HSI for me.

Welcome to panel hell...
there are at least 2 versions of that panel, i'm lucky to have both.

The problem is that the navigator panel is different between those 2 variants

A few tips:
Get the latest version (the RV model) that one has a VC ( Shocked Shocked Shocked)
Get the patch for that one.
Your navigator background image wont look that good (wrong bitmap), but there is a manual in english (not that good english, but readable) which tells you how to set the switches. i learnt it by trial and error (and from having experience with it's FS2000 predecessor)
