Currently signatures are limited to 300 characters, which, in my teeny opinion, is just too short. I honestly think that most big signatures are big because of people being irresponsible with their avatar and signature files, which really ticks me off. I really think we should get something like 400-500 characters for signatures. This means people could stuff more into their signature right? Well, I'd be willing to monitor our fellow simmers' picture sizes...

I was just going to post about something similar here. I think that some of the picture sizes that are in the signatures are getting to big. I don't mind big text signatures and banners, but huge pics start to get distracting.

I too would like to have slightly more room for a signature. I think that small images in the sig are nice (like my Oregon flag for example) but some of them are getting to be too big. I think Pete has set a maximum size for the sig image file, but I also wish he would only let them be so many pixels-because in some cases they are simply in the way. But I would likemore room to type in the sig, there was one more thing I wanted to add to mine but found I was about 50 characters short. The again, in my case all I have to do is wait till the end of football season and then I'll change it.

I agree that some sig images are getting way too big. This affects loading times when several of these are in one topic. There's nothing to stop you having a reasonably sized image with text on it in your sig if you wish. That might be one way round the character limit. I think you could also link the image to a webpage if you have one.

Hey, looks like Pete has increased the allowed sig size. Now I can bring back my Lovell quote and have the complete sig that I wanted! Thanks Pete!

It would be a great help if someone would remind these people that the max size for sig images is 30k - or tell me who they are.......
It waists SO much time every day deleting oversized screenshots - sig images are not so easy to find as they probably aren't over 100K.
I need help keeping track of these timewaisters....
...& yes - I increased the text limit to 700 ..
