That jet must have been hard on runways, with it's tail only inches away fron the tarmac belching fire.

some early models of the Me-262 had a taildragger configuration. according to some test pilots,you had to step onto the brakes for a short time ,just before reaching V1 in order to get the nose in a good position for take off.
strange things,those early jets...

yak-15 was a taildragger too... not too succesful as the next variant had tricycle gear and was built in larger numbers (yak-17)

The Supermarine Attacker was a taildragger. If the pilot was not careful it used to melt the tarmac behind it. By all accounts it was a rotten aircraft too.

They might look unusual but Italian aircraft are generally well designed & stylish once you get used to them. The Italians have a flair for such things, like their racing cars.
