I would encourage people to get creative when they post. I did this in Photoshop, it took about 20 minutes and I put up four pics for under 75k! If I could make the background transparent (still haven't figured it out) it would be less. And it's still within the physical size limits too. If everyone would take a few minutes and reduce the weight of the shots, this forum would move a bit quicker.

Nice pics, but the wrong forum Kevin
Rifleman figured out a method for transparancy a little while ago, I'd suggest PM'ing him

Just goes to show doesn't it? If Rifleman can't tell you how to do transparency then I will.
Cheers,

PS. Stunning edit

alrighty kevin. . .you need to select all the areas that are white. . .hit the delete button (so the parts that were white now apear as a grey/white checker pattern). . .now save it as a .gif

bear in mind that it **might** be way over 75k when you save it as a .gif

Thanks Bman! It did increase the size substantially though, so it may only be convenient for other things. But at least I know how now.

The best thing to do, is as Bman said, delete all the white areas. Then export it as a gif. If you want really good stuff with transparency, Fireworks MX 2004 is an incredible piece of software. It can handle almost anything, and in some cases, does a much better job of resizing than Photoshop. Files can be exported to a custom files size as well. Exporting as a file is no problem either.
You might like to download the trial version and have a look at it. I bought Fireworks MX 2004 the other day a I am throughly pleased with it! On the "small files for the web" front, IMO, it beats Photoshop by many miles.
Cheers
