I'm just curious on what some of the people here think about modern day dancing...which is tied into rap, techno and mixes.

To make it easy I tried to make a poll that spans from it being totally accepted at the top, then at the bottom not accepted at all.

The first and second vote can be really expanded in meaning. The first one can mean that you simply like the music and to dance. Other people somewhat like the dancing, music and other stuff with an equal balance. The second one can be seen as modern music is todays entertainment, and there is no escaping it...so if you want to have fun join them.

I voted for "Structured forms" because it is easy for follow along with your partner.

I also find that trying know girls involves going to clubs, talking, risk taking, embarrassment, frustration and further complications in life.

mehhhh...I grew in in a nut shell with books and a TV.

P.S This subject is more directed to the youger bunch that experience modern culture.

Interesting on how all the rock concert people reply.

I somewhat think that dancing is a girl thing. Leaving guys to follow, which can be difficult. But I think that, if the dancing is not good, the DJ turns on the smoke machine.

meh...

I fall into the rock concert group as well, as I hate dance/techno sh!t, can't dance, hate dancing nd have no desire to dance, however I voted for the knockout girl one for obvious reasons 8).
Other than meeting grls I don't get the attraction of clubs, I find them boring, expensive and deafening. AS to the music it jut a friggin baseline in a loop with some prat trying to sing/mumble/scream Angry.

Ranger I think you are right, dancing is more a girl-thing.  I love to go clubbing but I have always found that my partners are reluctant to go because of the old excuse that they can not dance, so what!  If you don't like dancing don't go, and if you do like to dance then sod what anyone else thinks of your dancing and enjoy yourself.

I might be showing my age but I couldn't dance to save my life. Never saw the point. I much prefer to play the music for others to dance to or listen to a good group. I played drums in a group for 12 years back in the 60s-70s. I never could stand discos (or whatever they call them now) at any price. Give me a live band or group any time.

In my day all the girls would dance around their handbags while the guys drank beer & watched. When we'd had sufficient beer we finally plucked up the courage to go on the dance floor - usually just in time for the last waltz. They always played the last waltz but nobody knew how to do it properly - or cared. Sad really. Happy days. Wink Grin

Blimey...!
I've only got to hear the first bar of a thumping Rolling Stones piece and I'm in there....!!
I used to go regularly to our local dance hall in the 1970's every Saturday night, and rave it up with the rest of them..
Excellent excercise....!
Haven't lost the nack, and I can still do it now and amaze all my kids... Grin...!
...probably bring on a heart attack, but it's fun...!
LOL...!

Cheers...

I have a comedy CD that totally sums this subject up.
The guys is talking about how guys made up sports just to keep their minds off of sex all the time. He gives a few examples, I will give you the best on here.
Basketball, five guys fighting five other guys just to get to a hole, just like being in a night club.

Think about it,

Kevin

P.S. I totally agree with Pippin.

Thanks for the replies, lots of good comments.

I'm really not into the dancing thing, the only reason I'll go to a club is because a knock out girl dragged me there. And no, I dont mean what Pipin said.  Angry....I'll just go for the social element.

Dancing, certainly seems easier for girls, dont know why. The whole thing must be a girl thing.
