Has anyone ever read this thing? Is it any good? I found it at a book store today for $3.00, it's the whole book complete and unabridged, not the shrunken down version.

I was just wondering what the chances are it's good enough that I will actually read the whole huge thing, or will I get bored and never finish it?

I have it and I've read the first four or five chapters. I haven't gotten very far because I've had to read other books for school. If you are interested in the French revolution, Russian history, or the War of 1812, it's probably worth reading.
This book will probably take me a year to read. It takes me about one and a half months to read a regular sized novel. I'm the kind of person  who can't skim through a book. If I don't read every word, then I get lost.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Paz,

It is worth a read....... if gfor nothing more than the fact that it is considered a "classic".  Read it and then you decide.

best,

It probably is worth the read, at least once in your life. And after that it makes an excellent doorstop/bug-crusher/paperweight Wink
