Guys, vote and also post a message on which card you think is the best and trouble free. And doesn't leave you starving and homeless for a year.  Smiley

Hi Silver, well I upgraded from an MX2 to a Ti4600 a while back, I'd been flying FS2k2 and CFS3. All I can say is that it was worth every penny I spent!!! And they have recently come down in price as well. So if you can find one at a reasonable price you should be able to max-out all the sliders and run fantastic resolution without any stuttering in 2k2!!!!

After hours and hours of reading forums and reviews I recently bought a Gainward GeForce FX5600 128 Mb.
I didn't buy it because of what I read - there's just too many opinions and differences in setup.
In the end I just picked the one that fitted my budget best...
Don't regret it though. Works great in both FS2k2 and FS2004 without any problem or hickup.
Cheers

well silver  i would reccamend a 64 mb Geforce 4 mx 440 se.  i just bought one not to long ago.  it seems to work great.  it practicaly doubled my FS2002 Pro performance.

and it only cost me $100.    its a great deal for the performance you get from it.

its was just a suggestion Roll Eyes

its the only thing i used so far.   personaly i think it depends on your money and whether or not your computer can handle it.  i have no idea on a price range of a 128MB ???  i had to go cheap,  and what was stocked.

Hi Triple_7,
An MX440 64 Mb would cost around 50 euro around here, so about 45 US dollars. My FX5600 cost me 140 euro - which is about 120 US dollars I guess - almost triple the cost of a MX440 64 Mb.
You're right pointing out that it all depends on your budget and system specs. And personal opinions, which makes it very hard to choose a videocard...
Cheers

i have a GeForce FX 5600 256mb. the only other card other than a GeForce that I have seen is an ATI 9600 128mb and I think my FX 5600 is better than the ATI. It runs FS2002 very well, and hasn't let me down yet.

Putting aside the  " don't ever buy " .....if you want bang for your buck and have to live within your means, and if budget constraints are an issue, you may want to look into the GeForce 4 440MX SE.....if you have seen any of my posts you can judge for yourself what can be obtained by running 1600 x 1200 on 2002.....I will say though, that if I make the move to 2004, I will be thinking of moving up on card to a 128 by either ATI or NVidia, but thats a story to stay tuned for...................

This shot is from the 440MX

Wow, Rifleman, I'm jealous. I have the 128mb version of the GeForce 4 MX 440 (with P4 2.67 GB and 1 GB ram). On my machine, the aircraft would be jagged, the hills jagged to almost unrecognizable, and the terminal fuzzy....and I've tried every combination of settings. Guess I'll have another go at those settings...all the best.
