Hi all
Is there a complete list out there for all of the control surface/general tags?? i.e. rudder, l_aileron, r_aileron, gear01 etc etc.
I've managed to scrape up a few tag names...but I need a complete list

Do you mean Gmax? Because there is a small MaxScript that contains all the names and will put them in for you at the click of a button. Its called TagTool, but I forgot where it came from. I think someone posted the location here recently, which is how I got it. Try looking through this forum a few pages to see.
Otherwise, get the SDK with MakeMDL in it from the site in my signature. It has a list of every label recognized by the program.

Ender's posting is spot-on.
The MakeMDL, and Aircraft Container SDKs are "must haves" for the flightsim modeller.
The links in Ender's signature are also - with one glaring omission, of course - necessary links to have as "Favorites"...

Very nice ! I downloaded the script from the link above...installed it and loaded it in GMAX 1.2 Voila...there was the complete list of tags

I honestly did try to put 'er in there! But I ran out of allowed characters, and I just can't do without Einstein!
Besides, I can never remember the other three sites off the top of my head. FFDS is easy to remember.
