Please can anyone help

???

I seem to have lost my ATC sounds, the ATC text still appears as normal and all aircraft sounds are OK.

You're gonna have to pull the files off the FS disks, but I can't remember exactly which one.  Either 1 or 3, I know that much.

Check to see if youhave the sound files, FS2002/Sound/USEnglishASOS.gvp and usenglishbig.gvp.  If one of them is missing or corrupted you can extract them from CD1, 10voices.cab or 10voices.cab.

You might want to check your ATC sound settings first and make sure ATC sound is enabled and at an audible level.

I was having the same problem after doing some downloads.  If I press P to pause, then press it again, my ATC voices come on immediately.

Interesting - I've done many downloads and haven't seen this. What kind of download first made you aware of the effect?

It happens, sometimes you end up withcorrupt or overwritten files with a download. That's why you really have to read and understand the readme files. OK, so sometimes the author doesn't make it quite as clear as we all would like, but really be careful when overwriting files. If you have paid for  FS2K2, you are allowed to contact MS and they will walk you through the process of replacing files free of charge. They will do this 2 times only. If you don't have the smarts to work all of this out, that is the best way to go.
