Hi,

I am taking the lessons with Ron Machado. I've been through the ground classes, and so far, I am taking the lesson on the VFR approach with the Boeing 737 at JFK, runway 4.
When I fly the downwind leg to the REEFO intersection (6 nm from the JFK vor), the instructor interrupts the lesson by saying that I left the training zone  Cry. Did anyone deal with that problem, and how can it be avoided ? Seems to me that I follow the instructions, so I don't know what I'am doing wrong... ???

Thanks
Geoff

Huh!  Seems you've run into the infamous "lesson bug" that plagues FS.  I'm surprised you got as far as you did.  Most people give up after they fail the private pilot license flight four or five times.

It seems that the lessons have to be flown precisely, or else they fail you.  Sometimes you'll pass them, other times you won't, with absolutely no variation in the flight itself.

Hi, my first post! I have been experiencing the same problem with my instrument rating course! Is there no fix or patch for this?? I also want to know if there is courses available to help learn fly the heli? Or is that your own self-study?

Hahaha, it's bloody frustrating going into the perfect 'okay nearly' holding pattern everytime and then getting told that are doing something wrong.! As for the heli training, thanks, would rather be laying down the "right" habits from the start with the right training!

Nice to know that I am not the only one who can't get past the PPL test - a perfect steep turn seems to be impossible to achieve and the lady examiner is obviously a perfectionist!  Undecided

Remember to add full power as you make the turn, I tend to forget that, and the angle should be 45 degrees! That is how i passed anyway... I also passed my instrument rating at last!! Some misunderstanding with the holding pattern, but when thought about it and when flying, passed it the first time around!!! It's quite nerve wracking tho, it's a long checkride, and you can't see anything in front of you.  Grin Keep tryin with the lessons, sometimes you miss small things, and the satisfaction of completing them is def worth it!

I passed that with the third attempt but after doing the landing (the next exercise) just nothing happened. I was expecting a confirmation, a phrase, something to let me know I succeded or not. Just nothing. I landed, taxied, parked, secured the plane and no voice at all. Maybe I was flying that bad that as soon as I touched the ground she jumped off.

Anyway, the checkrides and the lessons have many bugs.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the voices of the instructors. I don't find it very clear, maybe my sound settings, and i really have to concentrate to take in all their instructions. I also landed and on myy PPL and nothing happened, when I did it again, I realised that I landed the 'wrong' way.
