Nose down fix? (Read 132 times)

Can anybody help? I have some flight dynamics for FS2002 that result in a couple of degrees nose-down in level flight. Is there a pitch trim command that can be put into the autopilot to fix this? I don't want to mess with the plane centre of gravity, as it'll upset too much else.

i don't know much about FS flight dynamics, but i think you can try to reduce lift a bit.

this will cause the nose to raise, as the angle of attack will have to be a little higher to generate the same amount of lift as before.

i'm not sure if it'll work, it's just a guess

Try changing the "wing_incidence" in the aircraft.cgf file (airplane_geometry paragraph)

Do it in 0.2 increments (I believe reducing will raise the nose.. it's basically the wing's angle of attack in level flight, so it can effect the visual model's appearance in flight)

Of course..make a backup first.

Moach/Brett,

I've tried adjusting both the lift settings, and also the wing incidence independently. They both work, although adjusting the lift also affects the flight ceiling and to some extent the plane's stability, and is less 'predictable' (if that's a bad thing!).

Changing the wing incidence seems to have a more direct correlation to the nose angle, as all of the other flight characteristics have stayed the same. Changing the wing incidence from +2.0 to -1.0 has resulted in a chenge of nose angle from approximately -2 to around +1, which is pretty much what I was after.
