Hey,
I'm wondering if anyone out their knows where i can get a Fleet 80 Canuck that WORKS IN FS2004.  When i flew in FS2002 Bill Lyons Fleet 80 Canuck was one of my favorite a/c but when Fs9 came out i was shocked when it didn't work right, i would get funny errors, the float variant would just sink and crash when i tried to land on water, the wheel version would do funny flips and spins, i tried my best to make it work with my limited programing knowledge but to no avail.  I've flown in a real Fleet Canuck and i was quite impressed, although getting into the things a bit interesting, could use bigger doors.  Anyway if anyone knows where i can get one that works in 04, a fix for bill lyons or if anyone is making one right now i would greatly appreciat it.
Thanks,
Chris Murphy

The wheeled version works perfectly on my system -- it doesn't show any of the problems you state.

The float version sinks because of an error in it's aircraft.cfg file.  Load the file into a text editor and scroll down to the section headed, "contact points". The first four lines must be disabled. This can be done easily by inserting a double slash (//) at the beginning of each of those four lines (preferred), or, you can simply delete them.

The museum I participate in is currently restoring a Fleet 80 to flying condition. It was a basket case when we got it -- the result of a bad accident. Hopefully by next summer it join our 6 other restored vintage aircraft on the flight line.

I get errors even with the wheel version, im going to try rewriting the .cfg to work with '04 i email bill lyons for permission to release a fix if i could make one about 3 weeks ago and i haven't heard back from him yet.  Is your museum the one in or around Surrey because i was there with the aircadets last spring break

You haven't been specific about the "errors" you say you are getting. Given that the Canuck runs perfectly on my system, I can't help but think there is something with your computer that is causing the problem. It could be as simple as a video driver upgrade.

I use WinXP on an old 1.33 Ghz Athlon with 512 Mb RAM and a GeForce2 Ti200 with the new nVidia 52.16 drivers. I had trouble FS9 at first with only 256 Mb RAM. When I added the other 256 Mb, things improved. More recently, the 52.16 video drivers had a dramatic effect on smoothness.

I doubt rewriting the aircraft.cfg file will accomplish anything. There is nothing in it you can "fix".

Yes, the museum I participate in is "near" Surrey. To be more specific, it is at the Langley airport.

Good luck with your problem.

when i try to load the aircraft flight sim tells me that some parts of it aren't compatible.  when flying, no control surfaces move, the sticks/rudder pedals don't move in the vc, you see the pilots body in the vc and his headphones block part of the veiw. you can't see the propeller, and in the 2d panel the gauges are missaligned
