Ok, it is time for me to admit that if I had been in charge of the war, we would all be eating sauerkraut and wearing lederhosen right now.  Funny little mustaches would be all the rage today...

So what are your best campaign tactics for winning as the Americans?  Is it attacking production centers or ships?  Ground support or lots of dogfighting?

If this is a popular subject, I may start other threads for Britain and Germany... Smiley

Yeah, what they said. Smiley

Plus, ships, ships, and more ships, early in the game. Love to see those arrogant cruisers head for the bottom.

For cargo ships, cannons into the engine/bridge area, followed by a rocket or two. Using P38J/L, you can get 5 a mission if you are lucky, plus what your wingmen bag. This seems to help keep the Germans low on supplies and slow down invasion attempts.

the best way to avoid flack from ships (which is probably the thickest flack in the sim) dive bomb, or do a low level approach if using the torpedo... once your bombs are released begin to pull out so that you are level right over the water (10 feet?) stay low and very fast and leave the ships in your propwash aka get the heck out of dodge. after a couple of miles they stop firing and aim at someone else. you can then line up for another attack if you want but i recommend using the help of your wingmen to takeout the warships right off the bat, this makes the softer targets like cargo ships sitting ducks for your guns and cannons assuming you are out of explosives.
