Can anybody help me with removing the radar gauge from Marciano's a320 panel?

1. Open the panel.cfg with notepad.

2. Find the gauge line with the offending gauge in it.

3. Highlight the gauge line and press "DELETE".

Done. Wink

That will get rid of the gauge but it will leave a hole in your panel where the gauge was.

I suggest you:

1. Make a backup of panel.cfg.

2. Comment out the gauge.  Find the entries (your numbers will be different but the gauge names should be the same) so that

gauge00=F16!Radar,  85,9,472,455
gauge01=F16!Radar Mode,  85,459,240,20
gauge02=F16!Radar Range,  320,459,239,20

for example, now reads

//gauge00=F16!Radar,  85,9,472,455
//gauge01=F16!Radar Mode,  85,459,240,20
//gauge02=F16!Radar Range,  320,459,239,20

FS won't read anything with "//" in front of it and you can restore it if you want to.  You will need the coordinate numbers (position and size) for F16!Radar (I assume that's the gauge it uses) so you can replace the hole with another gauge.

The Radar Mode and Radar Range entries are invisible gauges that control (duh) the range and mode of the radar.  If you want to permanently delete the gauge you can permanently delete these lines too.

Actullay, I am using a320 panel. The CFG file doesn't show the radar gauge. The radar appears in the ND gauge. But if I remove the ND then the hole ND will disappear.

I see your point.  It looks like it's a choice of all or nothing.

You could delete

gauge01=RealCRT.ND.A3,  276,446,202,201

which would leave a hole in the panel, or find another similar gauge to replace it  If you have RealCRT.NDs.gau that might be a workable solution since there is a separate GPS function in the A320 panel.  It might also screw up some of the toggle functions.

I haven't installed this panel so I can't tell you much more than what I could see from reading the documentation.  Hopefully, someone who has installed it will come along.

Well, thank you webb anyway. The reason I am bugging you with this panel is cause it's a great panel.  The only problem is that radar gauge is screwing the FPS. I thought of removing the FSUIPC, but then I will lose other featuers aswell. Thank you guys anyway I guess I will have to live with it. Smiley

I checked out this panel in some more detail.  Having too much time on my hands I did a temporary installation.

It's possible that this gauge is slowing your system because it calls on another program (other than FSUIPC), which I didn't install, for nav data.  Unless you want to design your own gauge, though, I can't see any way of deleting part of it.

I mentioned using RealCRT.NDs.gau as a replacement.  It's not much smaller - 232k as opposed to 243k.  This would screw up the EFIS switch and would be the equivalent of leaving it permanently switched to ENG.  If that setting is not slowing you down you might as well just leave it there.  I'll send you the file if you want to try it and if it's freeware (I don't recall paying for it but I'd have to go back and look at the original file).
