.... have managed everything so far but my edited nose art just won't appear .....

...

.... have used DXTbmp and managed to edit and transform all the other textures succesfully, .... but then the nose art! ..... I've edited it to match my referance photos and kept what I supose is the original transparancy colour but to no avail .... have done some experimenting and can not even edit the original texture .... its saves to the same file size and pixel dimensions but in "properties/summery" of the edited bmp I notice it to be identical but, it has no resoloution? ... any ideas or am I just missing something simple?  Roll Eyes ( I'm using photo shop 5) is this the problem?..... been reading up and I think I might be right in saying that I can't do what I'm trying ..... I believe there to be a sort of seperate masking image that belongs with the model that does the masking of the image and was applied when the textures were associated to the model ..... I would need to create new versions at the modelling stage?  .... would I? and I can't reverse model applying the textures?

If this is in CFS 3 then I know what your problem is. I had run into the same thing while trying to add custom nose art of my own. you need to first save a regular bmp into the folder:
Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\uires\gbr\noseart and save a plain 24 bit bmp. then save an Identically named file to the folder:
Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\aircraft\shared in DDS format using DXTBMP.

and then it should work. If this is not in CFS 3, I don’t know of any other reason the nose art isn’t showing up. But this will come in handy if you DO decide to make nose art for cfs3 Wink

P.S also I am a Photoshop 5.5 fan myself Grin

I'm also having a problem with this, did everything you listed above, only problem is that now the only texture it displays is my custom nose-art, the rest of the plane is white! Please help!
