Lovely shots of a lovely plane. The first delta wing all weather fighter Britain had if I remember correctly.

It was also one of the insparations for the Avro CF-105 Arrow, which was the first aircraft that defined the world of modern fighters. You know, when I think about it,  the basic design of fighters has changed little since then.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Nice shots of a nice model.
Not sure about the aircraft though. It wasn't exactly a success as my friend who had the misfortune to service them will tell you. I used to see them regularly at one time. Easily recognisable by the distinctive warbling sound of the Sapphire engines.

Are you sure about this Orenda? The double-delta design of the Javelin is unusual & not much like the Arrow. I would have thought the Avro 707 deltas (the scale research aircraft built to test the Vulcan concept) would have been more influence. Roll Eyes

All early deltas were insparations but many prospective Arrow pilots has been flying Javelins. Lead test pilot Jan Zurakowski (I know it's spelt wrong) had flown Javelins previously. Remember that although  AV Roe England and Avro Canada shared a common name, they were two separate companies.

I've been trying to download this nice aircraft but Flightsim is busy again. Avsim must get at least as much traffic as they do and SimV must be pretty close, these two sites don't have problems. Flightsim really needs to get its arse in gear.

Ah OK, although I'm sure they would have passed on some research data. I didn't see the obvious link with Gloster Aircraft. I forgot about Jan Zurakowski originally working for them so that explains it. You did spell it correctly. BTW Wink

Thanks for that link Ivan. I knew I'd seen that beautiful Avro 707 somewhere. Seems like the delta fans are in for a treat. Cheesy
