I'm 37 now and I grew up listening to Pink Floyd, they made some of the most interesting music of the day, once Roger Waters left the group I lost interest in them, although David Gilmour wrote some okay material, I didn't like their music nearly as much as with Roger.
As a matter of fact, I find Roger Waters music to still sound more like Pink Floyd than the last of the stuff Floyd actually did, Pink Floyd were like two groups in one, the David Gilmour band and the Roger Waters band, in my opinion the real Pink Floyd was the Roger Waters band.
Sad that he had to leave his own band to be able to make his music the way he wanted, but I know the feeling.

I love Pink Floyd, I will still just sit, listen, and try to remember days gone by. I'm 54yrs old and it seems remembering days gone by, as well as what I had for lunch, is not as easy as it once was.

How about "get your filthy hands off my desert" a truly interesting song! and "Money" is too. I prefer "the final cut" and "dark side of the moon" to all of the albums though.

Has anyone besides myself ever listened to any of their music other than "Dark side of the moon" or "The Wall"?
My absolute favorite Floyd stuff includes "Meddle" ( "Echoes" is my ultimate favorite floyd song!), "Ummagumma"(which was the first Pink Floyd album I ever heard and owned), "Animals" (Especially "Dogs") and "Atom, heart, mother".
If the only Pink Floyd you know is from "Dark side of the moon" forward, you are missing out on some of their best work, and don't get me wrong, I loved Wish you were here, DSOTM, The Wall and The Final cut as well, just be sure to check out the earlier stuff too.
Anything without Roger Waters I can live without.

Of course it's not just The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon. "Time" is just my favorate Floyd song. I really enjoy The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and Meddle. Infact, I don't even own The Wall or Wish You Were Here.
Gotta look into getting them.

"Time" is a good song "Pigs (Three different ones)" is an interesting song but above all "Comfortably Numb" is a truly interesting peice of work!

I have Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Meddle and the best of album.
My favorite is The Wall.
You raise the blade,
You make the change,
You rearrange me 'till i'm sane,
You lock the door,
Throw away the key,
There's someone in my head,
But it's not me...

Absolutely! Wish You Were Here is phenomenal. Animals, Meddle, pretty much anyhting before Roger Waters left. Anything after pretty much sucks with exceptions like 'On the Turning Away'

So I'm not the only one that thinks post Roger Waters is pretty much crap? I mean David Gilmour is good, but splitting the team up just destroyed them.

Roger was the darker more creative and imaginative part of Floyd, his stuff is still great, David Gilmour wrote some good stuff too, but his music was of the more popish radio type music.
They made a great songwriting team overall.

my lyrics:
Into the distance, a ribbon of black
streched to the point of no turning back
a flight of fancy on a windswept field
standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast
how can i escape this irresistable grasp.
