you all know my love of tri-jets, so all i can say is brilliant.
Before i get this, is it as much of a b*tch to land as the real deal is?
Cheers:)

ooooooooooooooooh(said in a green aliens way from toy story Grin lol)
cool, will check it out tomorow
side note incase anyone was wondering.
The MD11's biggest problem in the flyign department is the fact it has a short tail, which means it doesnt like to handle very well at low speeds especially landing.

I hate to spoil the fun but I'm a little disappointed.
Sure it looks great from the outside (apart grom the tail engine lacking a turbine Sad) but inside....no virtual cockpit, no panel (well;default 777 - a TWIN engine plane!) and no sounds included (default 777 sound is used). There should be an IFDG MD11 soundpack (there's a sound.cfg in the download) but I can't find it anywhere
The winglet vortex are great when landing though...cool

Anyone know of a good MD11 panel and/or sound?

a 777 panel is pretty close to the MD11's ok missing a few gauges for the third engine but they are both glass cockpits with simmilar design

They do have a soundpack to d/l, looks like you didn't take the time to look hard enough. You can find goot MD-11 panels around.

Blade,

What I mean is, it's just the outside of an MD11. A very very well made outside I might add. I wasn't being sarcastic or anything, I love the plane but it's just not complete.

I  honestly can't find the soundpack. Could you give me a link to it?
About the panel: same thing. Could you recommend any? I have a great DC10 panel in my FFX DC10-30 but it's no good in an MD11...
As it is, when in cockpit view you're in a tripple7....and it sounds like one as well. That's all.
Don't be mad with me, I was asking for help. Embarrassed

Very nice  Smiley  I downloaded it and I don't even do school buses...  BTW, what's the difference between a DC-10 and an MD-11?

The MD-11 is a modernized version on the DC-10. They added modern features, streached it, and reengineered it a bit.

If people are looking for the sound pack, I found it quite easily.
Go to www.avsim.com and click on file library. Under FS2004 Sounds, search for McDonnell Douglas MD-11. Alternatively, the file name is ifdg_md11_soundpack.zip.

yeah they share some familiar looks, but the MD11 is primitive compared to the triple 7 I think.
And regarding the MD11's shortcomings when flying approaches, you gotta admirer the TriStar engineers who had the common sense to develop the unique Direct Lift Control (I think it's called that) which uses the spoilers instead of elevator to make smooth corrections during the approach.

The TriStar still is unsurpassed with its Automatic flight system/control surface solutions  8)

I want a new L-1011 for FS2004!  Grin
