FPS....strange behavior (Read 114 times)

Hi all
Don't know if this is the right place to post this question but anyway.
Who can explain the following to me:
When I open an extra window in FS2002 (a real "window", with the blue outline) my FPS more then double. See the pictures. They were taken with every display setting on max.
It doesn't matter which window I open or how small/large it is, but it doesn't work when I open a window without the blue outline.
I really don't understand but whats more: it is the only way to get the FPS I think I should be getting.
Next question off course: how can I get the higher FPS without opening an extra window?
System specs:
Athlon XP2000+, 768 Mb RAM, GeForce FX5600, all the latest drivers.
Any help or remarks appreciated.
Cheers
AJ

if you open a window using shift+1 or two or 3 in any but normal cockpit view you get the window like you see it. If you then switch to an other view it stays like this.
If ou open a window in normal cockpit view it won't be outlined. Dunno why this is
