The plane will get even more better when Service update 2 is released, which will be very soon.
Lots of upgrades to the FMC and virtual cockpit enhancements!  Smiley

Great shots. The last one is my favorite. It really does look almost real.

If possible, could you please post your system specs. I'm will be in the market for a new system soon and anyone who get 30fps while landing has got what I'm looking for.

Thanks
Eric

Ya I noticed that too. Anyone who gets 30 FPS round trip, through heavy clouds and heavy cities plus that aircraft, (fps hog) I'll be lucky to get 30 fps with any plane I got  Wink.... Well...

Post your specs. Nice shots though! I would like to see some inside the cockpit, VC and 2D.

I liked yours too nexus, I preferrable like the America West Airline Livery over "most" else.

Oh, and also, preferably some inside, looking out over the wings! Hooray!  Grin

Thanks guys!  Yeah I am looking foward to the new update for the 737NG.  I will work on getting some wing and cabin views and I will post them for those interested.  Ok here are my specs...

System Specs:

P4 2.4 Ghz Processor
Intel 865PERL Motherboard
1 Gig of DDR RAM (PC2700 333Mhz)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB DDR (at 8x AGP)
Sound Blaster Audigy MP3+

Now perhaps more importantly, here are the "tweaks" and current settings for FS9.

*First of all I am running the Omega 2.4.74a drivers based on the ATI Catalyst 3.6's.
*Installed DirectX 9b
*Replaced cloud textures with the more FPS friendly FPSAndFIX.zip
*Replaced default Autogen textures with lower res textures
*Replaced runway and taxi textures with lower res textures.
*Renamed the file in the Autogen folder to "default.bak"

Settings:
*Terrain Mesh Complexity - 80
*Terrain Texture Size - High
*Water Effects - OFF!!  (MAJOR FPS killer! IMO Not worth it)
*Dawn/Dusk Texture Blending - Checked
 Extended Terrain textures - Checked
*Special Effects Detail - High
*Scenery Complexity - Very Dense
*Autogen - Very Dense
*Addon Scenery and Ground Scenery Cast shadows - Unchecked
*Glares and Flares - Checked
*VC Gauge Quality - Low (unless I am using the VC)
*Reflections, Shadows and  Landing Lights - Checked
*Weather:  Sight Distance - 60mi
                  Cloud Draw - 40 Mi
                  3D Cloud Percentage - 100%
                  Cloud Coverage Density - Maximum
                  (Detailed clouds)
*Weather Rate of Change - NONE
*FPS locked at 30
*Resolution - 1280x1024x32
*Render to texture and transform & lighting - Checked
*Anti Aliasing - Unchecked
*Filtering - Trilinear
*Mip Map Quality - 4
*Hardware Rendered Lights - 7
*Global Max Texture Size - Massive
*AI traffic density 85 (with Gen Aviation unchecked when flying the airliners)

Sorry if that's a bit too detailed, but I don't think enough people post exactly what settings they are running at when reporting moderate to high performance.  There are just so many factors.  And also, a RAW instal of FS9 on this system only gets about half the performance as it does AFTER I complete the tweaks.  Now of course, these pics were taken in Hawaii, a very FPS friendly area.  If I took this plane to LAX or other extremely demanding areas, I would probably get on average about 20FPS with occasional dips to 15FPS.  Same with clouds...In complete overcast conditions, or very complex cloud conditions, I get averages of 20 FPS.  For this flight I used the real-world conditions (static).

I hope I have not forgotten anything...if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.  For the most part, I get an average of 30 FPS with any other plane, especially my Ariane Design SWA 737-300 ( I LOVE THAT PLANE!).  I posted a few shots a while back...

Thanks for the detailed reply Silver1SWA.

It really does help. I actually printed off your post and will be using it as a cheat sheet when it comes time to set up a new system.

Thanks
Eric

Wow silver, you really know how to get the most out of your system!

Not too detailed at all. I also have saved your options to raising fps.

Have you tried anything higher than 30 fps? I'm surprised you got that much with a 128MB. But not with 9800 Pro.

I personally love the PMDG, but! I do not have it, I will only get it when I get an upgrade. Unfortunetly my comp is not even good enough to handle a cessna in low terrain everything. Only the plane is high. My average FPS is around 10 at most.

Hey no problem I hope you find the information to be helpful.  I know I did!!   Roll Eyes  Exactly one day after I posted all that info, my system crashed and I had to reinstall Windows.  I had to read my own post to get me back to where I was HAHA.  How ironic...

I will get some up as soon as I can.  This whole computer crashing thing has caused a little delay.  Angry

I found all the replacement textures at www.avsim.com. ; The file names are:

FpsAndFix.zip or ffpv2.zip (version 2) for the clouds,
resautog.zip for the autogen textures and resruntx.zip for the runway and taxi textures.

Ah crap, I'm sorry guys!  I was in a hurry as I was on my way out the door.  It was not avsim.com.  I just double checked and both resautog.zip and resruntx.zip  can be found at www.flightsim.com.  The cloud textures, however, can be found over at www.avsim.com.  Sorry about that.  Embarrassed
