just cruising my home town (Read 473 times)

i just got a new graphics card today and had to tweek FS2002 Pro all over again.  so i decided to check out my home town and see just how much detail MS put into it.

parked at Wabash Municipal Airport  Indiana
...
i can already tell the detail is not going to be very great.  some of the taxiways are missing.
...
the airport buildings are not that far off from the real thing just the taxiways.
...
this is suposed to be down town.     and whats with all of the trees Wabash Indiana is more corn fields than trees.
...
You would think for wabash being the first electricaly lighted city in the world that there would be more detail.  or at least the court house where the origianal lights are still on desplay.
...
well im fed up with this im landing.
...
taxiing to parking after only a 15 minute flight.
...
parked and ready to go home.  i cant believe that there wasnt even a close representation of the town.
...

MS aparently isnt interested in historical towns.  only the big citys.  o well.

well i can only get frame rates of 10-12 without autogen senery   and 4-5 with.   i have better frames with the small props.   jets seem to get frames of 9-10 untill in the clouds when i get 13-15.      im not totaly done tweeking FS2002 yet by me just getting the card today.  im still trying to find that happy medium between performance and quality.

*SIGH*
When was the last time I heard that?
If you like clouds, stick to FS2002Pro for a while. With 2004 in the clouds, it'll kill framerates.

Nice pictures, btw. and thanks for the little historylesson!

Nice pics. My PC is not that good spec, but FS2004 clouds are set on high, and my framerates only drop about 2-3. Though dense clouds I get about 17-20fps. I can't complain really.

Great shots though, and, as JW said, thanks for the history lesson! Grin

yep  not to many people know that this was the first electricaly lighted city in the world.   hell i dont even think half the people in this town even know.   nobody probably would relize it unless they looked it up.   you would expect a huge city like new york   but insted its just the opposite.  a tiny little modest town that needs some major work.   but its home Grin   i dont think i would even want a big city here  i like it just the way it is.

as for the taxiway  you would think by runway 9 being the active there would be a way to get there.  i know it exsists at the real airport.   just one of those MS messups.

i did a little reserch.

"At eight o'clock on the evening of March 31, 1880, Wabash became the first electrically lighted city in the world. Wabash also had the first night baseball game in the world.
The founding of Wabash: 1866
The incorporation date of Wabash: January 1849"
