Hi Br_ and Prof. Brensec,
I live here in the big city! NEW YORK
! Everything no matter how cheap you try to find it is expensive!
I don't know if any of you have ever heard of MARKET PRO computer shows. Well they hold these computer shows where they sell computer hardware and software at discounts of up to 50-80% off manufacturer price!
(yea holly crap)!
I thought about creating a computer from scrap by hooking up with one of japaneese merchants at this show. Quickly saw that the kind of power I desire would run me more then $3,500.00. Not for nothing I have studied the pc I want and shifted and changed options to try to get that price to come down and just hit a brick wall. I asked myself why are you willing to spend $475 on a 18.1" flat panel monitor when you can get a 19" CRT (box) monitor for around $275. Why go with Windows Xp PRO for an extra $175 when you can just go with the home version for just $100. Why go with 120gig hardrive when 80gig hard drive will work fine for what I need.
The whole point is here in NY I am doing shopping the way us New Yorkers do it. Just go with quality because you go with someone you only see when the money is exchanged and something goes wrong you F(*@%D! I feel confortable making this $3,000.00 investment in a Dell. The only thing is I keep monitoring the website to see when the price goes down abit. I guess around or after Xmas so that I can get more options at around the same price or less!
Beleive it or not I had a great PC set up that was only 2,575.00. I am talking a P4 at 3.2gig, 1 gig DDR Memory, 18.1 flat panel and a 128mb Nvidia card, along with a 120 gig hardrive, soundblaster audigy 2, and wireless keyboard. But some of the parts went off sale so my cart got expired as a result.
Right now the market is not good to purchase this PC. So I am waiting for that window to put together my PC and purchase it at around 2,675.00 bucks. It's just a NY Thing
! I know but life in the big city sucks!
