Hello,

Does anyone have trouble or has had trouble with the timing on the flight simulator by which I mean I can be in a B737 and a simulation rate of 1 and be doing 480 kts and doing a mile in about 2 seconds (Seems crazy).
What I have be doing is turning it down to about a 1/4 the regular simulation rate and its takes again at 480 kts a mile in about 10 seconds which is still very long.

Thank you

Well, some fast maths concludes (damn I'm feeling rusty Grin) that at 480kts (groundspeed) you'll travel roughly 247 meters in 1 second, that's around 500 meters in 2 seconds so your theory about going 1nm in 2 seconds doesn't hold really. Yes 1nm in 2 seconds is crazy Smiley

Now, 1 nm is 1.8520 kilometers, which of course is 1852 meters.

How many seconds does it take to fly 1nm at 480kts?
1852/247= ca 7,5 seconds

There's your answer Jr.

I'll make some reservations for unintentional faults in the calculations above, I'm not a math wiz  Roll Eyes
