If tvale80 hasn't dampened you interest, check with Hyperion, he also knows a thing or two about VAs.

is their anyway of forcing a pilot that come onto a server to play, forcing them to have a specific plane? or make them have a plane that you hav made without them having to download it? becuase im making an Extra 300L two seater. that the same as the extra in fs9 just it two seater plane, and i want people that come on to be able to fly that plane. is this even possible?

Absolutely....people don't want a virtual airline that "forces" them to do anything.
It's a lot of hard work trying to get launced into the VA world, but once you do, it's quite fun.
Try to make something that makes your airline stand out, because as you've probably seen, there are tons of them.
In our case, we became the first airline in the world to offer pilots our pilot career enhancement tool, FiFo. It gives our pilots single click access to everything they'll need.
Second, get everything set up before you open. This was our mistake, and it took us probably three times as long to get where we are today.
Third, advertise CONSTANTLY. Put an ad in the registry here at SimV, post your news on FSINN.com, check out the VA Connection, etc.
Fourth, listen to your pilots needs. No one knows what they want and need better than them.
And finally, patience. It will take a while to get going. People want to make sure your airline isn't like the other thousands that close in two weeks. Be patient, and make sure people know you're around for the long haul.
Good luck!

Yes and no.
Many virtual airlines have tried to start up with names like virtual Delta, and virtual American Airlines.
This is quite dangerous. Often times, the real world airline will be quite angry at your use of their name, logos, and the like without their permission. This can lead to some rather strongly worded letters asking that you stop doing so immediately, which leaves your pilots out there flying for an airline with no name.
Very, very rarely, an airline will let you use their name and likeness. It's not common at all, but it's also not impossible. (If you look at Austrian Virtual, not only did Austrian let them use their logos, but they hosted the virtual airline's website for them. Incredibly rare. So rare that I can't think of another instance of it happening.)
Personally, I'd much rather use my own name, that way I'm free to do pretty much whatever I want with it. (And keep in mind that I'm a former Continental employee in the real world, and I still wouldn't use a real name. lol)
You've got much more freedom in picking your own name, which results in more fun. And after all, isn't that what we're trying to simulate?

hardest part probably is getting your management team together and the first few pilots flying.. like scot said get everything sorted before you launch so the pilots are not waiting on anything... im finding it hard getting my va off the ground infact theres only me at the moment lol

There are many virtual United's out there...one is listed as a subdomain of the real world airline site...a very impressive, and incredibly rare feat!

Yes, Midway is real. Unfortunately, in late 2002 or early 2003, Midway filed for bankruptcy protection, like so many of their larger counterparts.

I'd suggest putting a valid link to your site up, so people can see it.
Also, make sure people know your airline name. Get it out there everywhere!
Good luck!
