This is all for now. Like my previous pics they're all old photos taken with a conventional camera at various RAFA shows over the years. It takes so long scanning them 2 at a time & editing them to a reasonable quality. My scanner is not what it used to be, much like its owner. Enough excuses, here's the pix.
Westland Lysander. First time I'd seen one. Surprisingly agile for its type & size.
You all know what this is.
The remarkable Fairey Swordfish.

Fantastic shots. That P-51 is still in it's "Memphis Belle" colour scheme. Also, that Spit PR XI is the famous "Pink Spit" in it's days with the OFMC at Duxford.

Thanks for the kind comments. Shoreham is a wonderful place to see an air display. I hope that some of the informal atmosphere of the place comes through in my photos.
You can tell from the P-51D shot how close to the crowd the action takes place. Unfortunately the light is wrong for taking photos with an automatic camera. In the morning when the aircraft are all there & parked as in my Spitfire shots, the sun (if there is any) is directly behind them. The same goes in the afternoon when they're flying. If you wait until the show is finished when the light is better, most of them have gone or covered up for the night.

Yep. I went to Terminal 2 for breakfast when it first opened. It's now my favourite spot on the airfield.
As a matter of interest it's built on the same site as the old Southern Aero Club where I first started in the industry in 1960.
