Hello simers;
Ihave four questions that I cannot find any answers to on the net. I would appreciate all the advice and imput I could get.
#1) In CFS2 "world" , do they take into effect magnetic compass deviation? Short of buying true air maps, which may not accurately reflect the MS "world", it is impossible to determine if true N is used or magnetic N?
#2) If magnetic deveation is used: where do I get maps (on the net) which reflect this? Meaning VOR stipulations.
#3) Where can I find airport data; ie. elevation, rwy length and so on for WWII era european airports?
#4) Can I add VOR to my CFS2 world?
These holes in data make cross county navigation nearly impossible.
Thanks

In WWII over the Pacific, Navy and Marine aviators had a plotting board stowed alongside the seat. About 18 inches by 12 inches with a computer Mk8 for calculations.
They plotted postions out bound time, distance, heading and return to wherever the carrier was predicted to be prior to launch.
CADET: Compass heading add East subtract West. So true N was used and adjusted for magnetic in the area they were operating.
Lindbergh used true N and plotted his course magnetically. He was assisted by the Pioneer Compass which gave an "on course" heading to fly given the desired magnetic course.
In CFS 2 fly the magnetic heading.
VOR is oriented to magnetic North. Fly magnetic headings.
3 pass.
You may be able to add VOR with an add on to CFS2.
