greetings,
in spot view i find that the scenery is stuttering. everything has been working well during this past year  until now.  i think maybe i downloaded too many planes, greedy fellow that i am. (i think i may be embarrassed to say how many)...... or maybe something i downloaded caused some malfunction. any ideas?

It's difficult to say without your system specs but I find I have the same problem as you on occasion.

When you are in cockpit view your system has much less work to do than when in spot view, it could be that your machine can cope well with displaying a thin band of terrain and the guages but when you want to view the more panoramic scenery it chokes.

Try turning your settings down a little and see what happens.

I get the same problem occasionally when in spot view, also sometimes the scenery just falls apart.  My instant fix for both:  Switch screens and then go back-so if you're in full screen (which you should be anyway for best frame rates) switch to menu screen, then back again.  It's alt/enter for the switch. This fix also works for frame-rate drops, which may contribute to the stuttering problem; a back & forth screen switch usually increases or gets my frame rate back to normal.  My system specs are all very high-level, hopefully these fixes will work for you.
