Like the title says this is a rant Roll Eyes.

About: Vegetarianism: USELESS AND STUPID! It works to the exact opposite of what people intend it to! You see not eating meat does not save any animals at all! It actually causes more meat to be wasted! Which if they are so "Humane" should upset them even more! As a matter of fact anyone "Humane" would respect an animal that gave its life to be eaten and eat it NOT WASTE IT!

There now I feel better!
Comments are welcome Grin

We are omnivores.  Vegetarians require vitamin suppliments to remain healthy, however I would not wish to impose my views on others.  The existence of vegatarians means more bacon for me.

I resent that. Some people like me are vegetarians for health reasons, not because we're part of the animal humane society. In fact, I would love nothing more then to go hunting but since I don't eat the meat it WOULD be a waste

Absolutely not. In fact, I've known people who are surprised that i'm not "feeble and pale" like the 'traditional stereotype theories'

I knew a girl who decided to become a vegie to impress her hippie boyfriend. She looks pale all the time, that worries me.  Undecided I would not expect any woman to change their lifestyle to suit me, one of me is enough.  Grin

I remember hearing a similar rant on the radio a while back.  They were talking asking about vegies. The host said that their was a guy in his building that was a vegi. He was so strict that he even refused to give his dog any meat. Appearently this dog was sickly looking and tired all the time. The question posed to listners was "is this animal crulety?" I for one think it is. A dog eats mostly meat to survive and it's digestive system cannot handle mass amounts of carbohydrates, therefore the dog becomes nutrient deficient eating only plants.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. I think it's partially true. I've known people who were fanatical about being a vegetarian, eating only certain things, and yet were the sickest people I knew. I'll eat a lot of things, unless it's meat. I was even Lactos Intollerant when I was an infant, and even now my body can only handle so much dairy.

Some people argue that being vegetarian is the reason why i'm so short. The real reason is that it runs in the family. I'm taller then my mom, both my grandmother's, almost as tall as my dad & his dad. About the only tall person in my family is my mom's dad, and he's 6 foot 3. In fact, my grandfather on my dad's side didn't stop growing untill he was in his mid-20s, and he's 5 foot 9 Tongue

Being intolerant of meat is one thing, refusing to eat it so you don't hurt the little animals is just silly. I remember a comic's rant on this. "Does your food have a face?!, well they eat heads of letuce, ears of corn, the little eyes on the potatos, they're the one's who are savage."  Grin

i really dont know what i'd do if i didnt eat meat, as a matter of fact, i can't imagine not eating meat.  But i'd have to say not eating meat for health reasons is acceptable, just like some people don't eat certain other foods i.e. people who are yeast or lactose intolerant but the people who dont eat meat because of the little animals are wasting their time really, because what is them not eating it going to prove, nothing.  The meatworks isnt going to lessen production because of these people.  But then again, it is more meat for me.  . . . .

This is going to be one of those "hot" topics. Let hope we can keep it from being locked out.

Andrew, I respect you views and know it is hard to defend your views. The rational behind your stand is good and bad.  A life is killed just to so we can eat.
If we did not eat meat then there would be an over run of some animals that have few or no natural enemies. A good example would be the white tail deer in central NY. With out hunting there would be a 50% increase in car/deer MVA's resulting in more injuries.

The one thing I cant stand is killing an animal just for its fur. If your going to kill an animal for fur,  You better eat its meat
Done with the soap box..next...

Er, Loomex, Andrew doesn't eat meat because he can't, not because he won't.  I don't mind anyone doing anything they want.  I'm not interested in their defence.  As long as they don't stop me eating my steak and chips I'm a happy chappy.
