*yawn* Wonderful flight down south. Headed for the Carribean resort of Aruba direct from Seattle. Easy enough, pretty good weather. Come cruisin down and see that nice big island in the distance. Thinkin fun and sun here I come. Then....wait...no that cant be right... WAIT!!! YES IT IS!!! THE AIRPORT IS MISSING!!! I'm thinking Oh My God how could they leave the AIRPORT out on a FLIGHT SIMULATOR. *grumble, cancel flight plan* VFR around lookin for a flat spot. FIND ONE. Set her down on what is supposed to be a runway and taxi off. Does ANYONE have ANY suggestions?

Easy enough

If you know what it looks like just use FSSC to make an airport and pop it in  Wink

I'm just curious how you filed a flight plan (and who with) without knowing that the airport wasn't there.  You've got to pick it from the menu during your flight plan screens.

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

It looks like FS thinks there's an airport there or those planes are just sitting in a field.

Get the .bgl scanner program from the utilities section and check for damaged .bgl files.

Well a LARGE section of the Carribean is missing. Jamaica, Guantanamo Bay, Aruba to metion a few. Its...really jacked up. Its there in the menu and all the elevations are right and stuff. The planes are there and still taxi and take off (less they hit a building and crash). So I dunno...

I had that problem with my old PC.  Every time I loaded FS2k2 I got this error telling me that a scenery area couldn't be found. It was Western Hemisphere/Caribbean, all the airfields were missing, just trees and stuff. I got sick and tired of the error so I masked it out. I called MS and no matter what, we couldn't get the dam thing off the CD. They promised to send me a new cd, but, lo and behold, when I loaded it onto my office PC, everything worked fine! I never got the new cd yet.

Hi Saratoga. This intrigued me so I checked it out. If I chose the correct airport it seems to me there must be something wrong with your install of FS2002.
