An attempt on the...Seaplane Altitude Record!  Aircraft used is a Beriev BE12P...with as little fuel as possible on board. Took off from KSEA at 12:45 on a nice, sunny day, and climbed. And climbed. And climbed. The results were surprising... =)
(I have no idea what the record actually is.)

...

And the record is now...82126ft! *chuckle*

...

...

And then it sort of...well...fell. A long way.

...

For the record...no, I didn't pull up in time. The world record attempt ended in tragedy...and a large smoking crater.

Nice shots man, and an interesting plane.  But she flies well, never knew it went that high though.

Hmm, very odd. Only two out of the four pics are showing...because the bandwidth limit on the host site reared up and screamed 'NO! BAD!'. I'll see if I can fix.

The flying boat altitude record was set by Georgiy Buryanov over the Sea of Azov to an altitude of 49,088 ft, again in an M-10.

This Be-12 is a Be-10 disguised as a Be-12 (aircraft.cfg has jet engines instead of turboprops)

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
