I never had this problem with XP Home, but since I have upgraded to XP Pro, when I start Microsoft Word I get a notice saying Preparing to Install. If I let it run, at the end Word starts up. If I click the Cancel box a popup appears informing me that An error occured and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Please run Setup and select "Repair..." to restore this application., and then Word starts! I'm sure I have fixed this problem on a friend's machine before, I just can't remember how I did it (if I did it Roll Eyes).

Thanks, Jonathan

You should be able to do a full install of the Office CD placing all of the files on the computer, with no need to install more additions...I did this and it worked pretty good for me...
