PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TONIGHT at 8:00 PM American Eastern time, the Florida Marlins will play against the Chicago Cubs in Chicago, Ill.

For those like flying over Chicago, fly over the nearest baseball stadium and enjoy your front-row aerial tickets to see the game. joke. Hehe Grin

From here, you can post you support for either team. But don't start a flare up between us team supporters.

You can talk about how the game went between these two popular teams.

I have to support the Cubs, I love the city of Chicago, and have always sort of been a Cubs fan, I grew up watching the Cubs play on WGN, it would be nice to see them win the World Series.
I'm actually a bigger Diamondbacks fan, (I have a ball signed by Matt Mantei), but they didn't make the cut this time around, besides, if I remember correctly, the Diamondbacks took the series after only 3 years of existance, that's quite an accomplishment.

Ah yes....those pin-stripe boys......My fav memory of them is sitting 19 rows up just behind the right-hand batters box and watching Reggie Jackson strike out against the Jays....back in the 70s

LATE-BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Florida Marlins defeat the Chicago Cubs on the 1st game at 9-8 on the 11th inning. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

It was the closest game I have ever seen.

At first, the Marlins where losing. However, they managed to tie the game (for the moment)at 6-6. However, Sammy Sosa (Cubs) manages to break that tie (with a runner on 2nd base) with a homer thus making it 8-6 for the Cubs.

But fate had other plans. The Marlins, again, pulled a miracle out of their @5535 when they tied it again to 8-8 on the top-half of the 9th inning.

It was TTHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE closest game I have ever seen.

Then, Mike Lowell (Marlins)  broke the tie with a good @55 homer (with no one on base). Thus, making it 9-8 with Marlins in the lead.

Guys, did you see the crowd when they saw the Marlins won? OMG!! Their faces were as dead as a rock. They were so disappointed, that all of Chicago was silent. In fact, when a news reporter was talking, you can see the sad Cub fans walk by in the background. Only a few waved at the camera, but those waves were retarded in a way that it sent a clear message: "CR@P!!!!"

Anyways.....LET'S GO MARLINS. LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (clap, clap) Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Not a chance baby.  They had their third string guys pitching last night and they only used Sambrano a little to keep him rested.  Now you get to go up against Mark Prior and Kerry Woods.  Time to go down, fellas.

GO CUBBIES!

BTW, how'd you like that Sammie Homer?  Pretty thing wasn't it?

I saw that part with great surprise. Man, that guys is good. Shocked That ball was traveling at god-knows how many MPH and he managed to stop it on its tracks. Shocked

Oh yeah, I saw Sammy hitting that homer. That ball went flying out the stadium and into the crowd that was waiting in the street. It was so hularious when I saw that crowd kill each other just for a little ball that flew out over the fence. Grin Those people were like ants. As soon as there is a disturbance, they pounce. Grin LOL

In WSVN 7 News (here in Miami), they showed this black dude who was holding the ball when he grabbed it. He said that everyone was trying with all their might to snatch the ball from him. LOL OMG.....It's incredible how dangerous one mob can get when it comes to getting that damn ball that was hit by Sammy. Grin

Would tonight be actually classified as a 'pasting?'  12-3!  Man, even if this weren't the Cubs, this would be an incredible series... Grin

For anyone who may consider taunting me over last night's loss to Boston, Mr. Steinbrenner called me early this morning and assured me that they're just giving Boston a little taste of success, because it's been so long since they've had any. Wink

OMG!! Sad

Looks like Game 2 belongs to the Cubs, this time. However, for those of you who are along-side the Cubs, don't celebrate just yet. Remember, this is just Game 2.

The Marlins may have lost this battle, but they will not lose this war.

I believe that Game 3 will belong to the Marlins, this time. Think about it. After losing Game 2, those guys are now loooking for payback. >Smiley And guess where this next game will be.......give up?.......it's here in Miami, Florida. Since Florida loves the Marlins (and not the Cubs), our team will be recieving a ton of motivation from the crowd.

BTW, I heard that there are 7 games for this series. And whoever wins 4 out of 7 games moves on to the Championship. Is this true? Or is it really just 5 games for this series?
