hello,

for school we have to make a presentation about a building (tunnel, bridge, tower, ...), it doesn't matter what, as long as it handles about architecture it's ok.

i'd like to talk about runway constructions....how they build a runway, what materials do they mostly use, what kinds of runways exist, what's around a runway (ILS, ATC tower, VASI, taxiways,...), costs,...

if you have any information about this subject, or you know websites such as 'how to build a runway'  Roll Eyes, please post them here or pm me. any help is much appreciated. thanx in advance!  Wink

Perhaps an interesting note..........

Most people assume that engineers put the greatest emphasis on the runway itself, in terms of overall strength, when designing a new airport. In fact the greatest pressure is actually applied at the gates, when an aircraft is turned(while be towed), or is turning tightly, at low speed!

.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

Well, an airstrip in the bush could be a beach, or even a field Wink
