Hey
ive downloaded a few planes now (harriers, JSF's, Ospreys) that say in the readme that they are rooftop landable but when i try it i just go right through the buildings, is there anyway i can change this?

Hi Harrier, welcome to SimV.
Right for rooftop landings you'll have to turn collision detection on. The next thing is to find suitable buildings (not all are). The way to tell if you can land on a building is to hover over it and then go to chase view and see if you can see your aircrafts shadow on the roof. If you can its landable Wink

There is a nice one at the back of Central Park in NY.
The old favourite of The WTC is alas gone, as a mark of respect, and you can't use the add-on one that is available here for rooftop landings.
If you look in the helicopter downloads here you'll find a number of add-ons including buildings for landing on.

Most of the building at the major airports are also landable. The buildings next to the Control Tower at Meigs are landable.

Goto The Hartsfield, Atlanta and then nip across to the city. There's a nice little clump of default buildings, various heights and sizes, that I use for practising heli landings on

I've done various landings on certain buildings in the Honolulu downtown area, also the aircraft carrier in Pearl Harbor. Also made a successful heli landing on the tallest building in Houston Texas recently. The harrier is a great aircraft for these, also I've found some buildings are non landable as mentioned above.
Hope all your landings are great, Dee Grin
