Does anyone else have this problem with the X-45:

When I try to assign "Rotary Switch 1" to anything in CFS3, it deletes the command altogether.

Is this a glitch in CFS3 or the X-45?  Is there any way to fix it?

I just bought CFS3 and have discovered the same problem.  Has there been any fixes for the X45?

I am searching the sites for a solution and will post if I can find one...

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Here is the official reply from Saitek...  Very fast responce.

"Hi,

I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do to fix this – it’s down to the way the game reads the axes.  Both the throttle and the rotary 1 are called ‘Sliders’ but they are differentiated by a number – Slider 0 for the throttle and Slider 1 for the rotary.  The problem is that CFS3 can’t distinguish between the different Slider numbers and there’s no way around this from our side of things (you can’t change the basic behaviour of the axes on the stick as their ‘names’ are hard coded into the hardware.

The only way around it is to program the rotary 1 with the keyboard commands for the actions you need, using the bands option in the SST programming software.

Next questions has anyone been able to set up "Slider 1" in CFS2 or 3 using the SST?  Guess that is my next mission.  Or better can the XCA file in CFS3 be modified to add the function?  I pasted the first few lines of the XCA for the X45 below for reference.

<Device Type="Saitek X45 Flight Controller USB">
           <GameMode Name="Player">
<Axis ID="X" Action="Set_Bank" Scale="64" Nullzone="36"/>

<Axis ID="Slider" Action="AXIS_THROTTLE_SET" Scale="127" Nullzone="1"/>

Thanks,
