Just out of curiosity, why is this called a Viper instead of a Falcon? I've never heard of an F-16 called that before. ???

No partuicular Reason I know except reading stuff and hearing things- But apparently the Pilots of the F-16 commonly call it the Viper, even though us Aviation Buffs refer to it as the Fighting Falcon. No big diff.

All military aircraft have nicknames, like the Viper (F-16), BUFF (B-52), Bone (B-1B), Vark (F-111) etc etc etc

Except that the F-16 is the Falcon. The only Viper I know of is from Battlestar Galactica. Cheesy
