I downloaded them.....
THAT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it said from the start that they were unsigned.... then there was a probablem installing... so I skipped that after retrying a couple of times... then after that I restarted my computer... then I tried to go into FS 2004 to see if there is an inprovement, but it said that I can only run it in software mode... HMM so I try it in software mode, but I know that is just using my RAM for a Video card, i wasn't getting any improvement, so I exit out of FS 2004, And I try reinstalling the drivers yet again... Same problems
My system specs are:
p4 2.53 GHZ, with auto-overcloaking to 2.54GHZ
512 MB pc 2700
128 MB Radeon 9200
80 GB hard drive
windows XP
Am I doing somthing wrong???
If I am can you please help
Thanks in advance

sounds like that bad install mighta loused up your drivers all together. Reinstalling official ones might do the trick, but Omega drivers also change driver settings and add a few options to running the card, any one of those things possibly being the issue.
It may be wise to remove the driver set from the control panel's add and remove software section before attempting reinstall.
It should be noted, I didn't get full use of my Nvidia Omega drivers till I tweaked the driver settings a bit. FS9 seems to be finicky that way sometimes.

For some reason you are always advised to first uninstall the drivers you have, then reboot.
When detecting new hardware (the vidcard that is), cancel the automatic install, choose to manual set them for 'standard VGA'-card, then reboot.
The system should start in video mode 640x480 with 256 colors, only then install the new drivers for the card.
So, basically, always
1: uninstall,
2: turn the video drivers to the standard VGA ones (640x480 w. 256 colors).
3: install the new video drivers
Might not work in this particular case, but did you?

Did you uninstall your old driver? with the omega driver i think you leave the display driver and the omega wrights what it needs to and uninstall only the control panel driver.but i am pretty shure you halft to get rid of the control panel driver or the omega driver wont work.

I'd probably go with the Ati Catalyst drivers in this situation. While I have frequently used Omega's drivers, and have seen some performance improvments from time to time, the official drivers are probably a lot less of a hassle.
Omega's are sensitive to adjustments, and there isn't much you can change on the cards settings without nulifying the tweaks, pretty much.
Given my experiences with FS9 to date, I've found some of theses driver tweaks can sometimes conflict with FS, and allthough I've gotten the two to work together more often that not, messing with the wrong sliders on the vid cards setings has you reinstalling software again.
In blunt words, unless your getting 4fps and absolutely need tweaked drivers to make FS9 enjoyable, i'd stick with official drivers or leaked betas (hit or miss on performance gains, but gennerally, they work, and sometimes fix issues that you'd otherwise have to wait for official fixes on) from a reputable site like 3dGuru.com. Tends to be less hassle in the end.

Only problem is that those arn't for his radeon card made by ATI, But I'm looking into them for use myself, so thanks for posting.

I installed the Omega drivers for my 9800 card. They work great and seemed to give me a 3-4 fps boost right off the bat at my test site and the same settings.
Yes, you do have to uninstall the Control Panel first. The Omega drivers come with their own control panel. NOT doing this could cause problems.
I will probably continue to check different drivers out now and then. Usually the rule is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Meaning, if your current drivers are working fine, don't bother to change them. I only say this because it can be a hassle to change drivers. I have it to no matter what I do, I can easily revert back to my previous state. Therefore, I am not afraid to experiment a little bit.

As I understood it. Omega drivers are just the regular drivers with tweaks applied to improve graphics and speed. You can do this yourself with a program called Riva Tuner which is available at Guru3d. The idea of Omegas sounds great but keep in mind that everyone's system is different. The ability of Riva to tweak multiple settings manually makes it a must have for every gamer.

If I remember correctly, the "Clock Rate" option allows you to Overclock the Video Cards CPU just like you would overclock your computer's CPU.
Personally, I would leave that alone unless you got lots of money to buy a new Video Card when you burn your present one up.

Did you install the hacked or normal drivers? The hacked drivers are only for certain ATI cards. Stick with the normal omega drivers if you choose to go with omega. That is, unless you have the 9500 or 9700 (I think those are the cards that support the hacked drivers). I have a 9800 and I tried the hacked drivers and got that software mode message. I changed to the normal omega drivers and problem solved.

Hey all,
reading this topic and watching it evolve, I decided to get them myself. The 2.4.78a version.
I tried 8 times, but every time it came up with a CRC error, everytime at a different place in the file... wouldn't install.
So I then 3x tried the v2.4.78. SAME THING! CRC errors, but at different places. Since this is the first time I get corrupted downloads I did a reboot after disabling the firewall, virusscan, adwatch and webwasher. Same results.
So then I tried a regular download from ATI, it worked fine. Did a download from simviations, worked as well.
Any idea's, BETTER, does anybody have them for me, to download them uncorrupted from maybe a personal homesite, that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Ok that was my problem...
Did you uninstall the control panel? If you didn't, you have to... I also uninstalled the video card drivers just to be on the safe side... it worked fine for me

Yeah... I did uninstall the controlpanel, it's says so in the readme.
BUT now that I followed my normal rules (uninstall the drivers so you get Standard VGA 640x480x256) the package WILL install.
Which was not in the readme. Thanks for the heads up Michaelb15!
Thought that might make useful info for others.
