Hi warhawk3000,

More than likely the error that you're getting relates to your video card or its drivers.

I have a fairly new ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and I got those errors with the driver suite that shipped with it. I needed to download a newer version and now it works fine. If you have a Radeon 9700 Pro I would recommend the Catalyst 3.4s but any suite over 3.2 will work.

If you have an nVidia video card or are using an onboard video chip I would recommend that you update your drivers.

If your video card or onboard video chip isn't powerful enough or is outdated it's possible that CFS3 won't play on it at all until you get a decent video card or upgrade your existing video card. Sorry to say.

CFS3 wouldn't play right on an older, slower video card anyway as it needs quite a lot of graphical rendering ability.

If you would post your system specifications (including your video card or chip) we could more accurately tell you whats up.

Microsoft is well aware of this.

Good luck.

What kind of motherboard or graphics card do you have?

I had all sorts of problems with installing this "product" of Microsoft. I was spitting acid after I learned that my computer would not run CFS 3. It runs FS2002 and FS 2004 just fine but CFS3 was a no-go.

The problem was that I had a Celeron processor that Microsoft in their infinite wisdom left out of the planning process for the game. It totally would not work in the out of the box format. They royally screwed up. They knew it and even the CFS 3.1 patch still won't work.

Intel got to steppin' on the problem and released this update:

http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel810/sb/cs-004790-prd798.htm

I personally don't care for the game, even playing it on a friends Alienware p4 with a gig or ram and a latest-greatest video card, all the bells and whistles still cannot hold a candle to good ol' CFS 1.

There should be a big label on the CFS 3 box that reads:

"This game probably will make you pull your hair out trying to install it and tweak it. You will also need to download all sorts of patches that are buried deep on our corporate website."

Don't rely on Microsoft to fix your problem, they make problems...they don't fix them. They'll tell you to update your drivers and say a prayer.

IL-2 never had these problems. CFS3 is like a cheap knockoff.

I'm not bagging on Microsoft, I like FS 2002 and CFS1...jury is still out on FS 2004, but CFS 3 sucks.
