A British European flight from Belfast City to Blackpool recently had to be diverted to Leeds Bradford. The airline decided that they'd put the Leeds Bradford passengers onto the Blackpool flight at the same time. So the plane took off from Belfast, and landed at Leeds not long afterwards.

The cabin crew then announced that "All passengers for Blackpool please stay in their seats". The crew knew that 29 of the passengers were destined for Blackpool, and so when the time came to depart for Blackpool, the cabin crew were to do a headcount. 28. Another headcount also revealed 28.

Slightly irritated, a message was put out over the airport's PA system looking for the passenger. Meanwhile, in the cabin, the pilot, co-pilot and the two flight attendants were standing at the front of the cabin discussing what should happen.

"Should we give this guy a quiet slap on the wrist or a public humiliation?" asked the stewardess. The passengers aboard the plane all decided that it would be best to publicly humiliate this passenger who had not bothered to pay attention.

Upon his re-arrival to the plane he was greeted with the pilot, co-pilot and the two stewardesses wearing disapproving looks. The conversation went like this:

Stewardess (angrily): "Oh, nice of you to come along and join us, SIR!"

Latecomer: "I....."

Stewardess: "Where did you go?"

Latecomer: "Err...."

Stewardess: "What part of "ALL PASSENGERS FOR BLACKPOOL PLEASE STAY IN THEIR SEATS" do you not understand?"

Latecomer: ".........."

Stewardess (angrily, to pilot): "Well, what are you waiting on? Come on, hurry up and GO!"

As soon as the latecomer turned his back and walked to his seat, the cabin crew grinned at all the other passengers and instantly got back to their jobs, leaving the late passenger very embarassed and leaving one group of passengers with a journey they won't forget for a while!
