Can't install the No-CD patch! (Read 1816 times)

I downloaded and unzipped the No-CD patch today. Every time I try to run cfs3.exe to install the patch, I receive the following message:

Error Starting Program

! A required .DLL file, COMMON.DLL, was not found.

Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get this patch to install?

Have you updated CFS3 to version 3.1 first? You can get the CFS 3.0 Update here:

Don't confuse it with the CFS3.1 Aircraft Update.

And while you're there you may want to use the link to update DirectX to version 9(b).

EDIT: Oh, hold on. I don't think that you run (double click on it) that .exe file. You just paste it into your CFS3 main folder where the original is. You may want to make a copy of the original .exe file just in case.

Thanks for your help! I'm running DX9 and I've installed both of the CFS3 updates on the MS Insider website, so I'll try your suggestion.
