My panel is 1024x785, and in the sim there is a small gap on the bottom which remains 'visible' since the panel does not cover the entire screen. What numbers must i change to make sure the panel covers the entire screen? The current cfg numbers:

size_mm=800,600
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=4
visible=1
ident=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000

Thanks in advance

Oz. Are you sure this is the size? i assume you're referring to the main panel BMP. The reason I ask is that it would usually be a standard screen size like 1024 x 768. The CFG entry itself looks fine to me. You might like to try it like this to see if it makes a difference.

size_mm=800
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=4
visible=1
ident=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000

I would need to check out the panel myself before jumping to conclusions.

Do you mean a horizontal black band at the bottom of your computer screen even when the main panel is active (shift+1)? The whole panel is squat with a half inch band at the bottom?

OR

Do you mean that in the bottom left and right corners of the "cockpit's window" you can see a little bit of a thick horizontal band that exists behind the main panel?

The former is very rare and for me it goes away if I restart. Somebody else will have to help you with that.

The latter is common. It is caused by the particular panel's "horizon line".

In the panel cfg at the bottom it says [default view] with numbers: "X=" & "Y=". "Size_Y=" is the up and down. The numbers are different for each panel. It will be 5thousand something.

Use cfgEdit/ menu bar/ window/ main /"set default position". That will open up the main panel on a horizon and you can change the height relative to that particular bmp main panel there.

keep in mind, doing this can screw up the way the plane 'feels' when landing and doing maneuvers. And maybe where the bullets fall too? Maybe somebody knows more about that.

Maybe (along with a little cfgEdit nip and tuck) you could do a little art work on the bmp itself-- The art of "pointillism".  Just hight-lite, copy and drag and "skew" on the bmp itself so as to raise the "cockpit" parts. You could put a little "dirt' in the offending corners of the cockpit "window".
