Can we start a new area of interest called "limbo" or "wastebasket" perhaps  "what the?!?!?" for threads like this?   Kinda of ironic if you ask me......AWASH is that a poetic coincidence?  Well gotta go, I'm in Texas, gotta find Grandpa Fozzer and give him a hard time! After that I gotta pick nose hairs, and I won't have time for FS or SimV.........Take that !!!!!! Tongue

.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

This is exactly the reason I "boot up" the computer and fly! Virtually speaking that is.  Wink I'm a Learjet Captain, and I can't afford to rent an airplane either, most of the time! After a day's worth of "real" flying, though, I still like to get my fix.  8)

Your Intel graphics are, unfortunately, not up to the job. FS demands a reasonably powerful computer, and onboard Intel graphics are a cheap solution.

I'd recommend either a good ATI card or an nVidia card. Anything about a 64mb card should be acceptable!

I used to have fun with FS2k2 using my 700Mb pc with ATI 8Mb wonder, it seemed ok except for the odd crash or 2. Then I splurged on a NVIDEA Geforce2. At 1st I had a 15" monitor, but I upgraded to a Sony 21". Each upgrade gave me a new look. Then I did a really sneaky thing and loaded 2K2 onto my office PC which is a 2.6 Dell with Geforce 4. Wow, what a difference! Why am I telling you this? It's to let you know that the faster the PC, the better the graphics card and the bigger the monitor, the better will be your 2K2 experience. Go visit the auction houses and the used computer stores the bargain basement back alley and get the best you can bit by bit. $80/hr is out of reach for me too, but I'll be damned if I'll give up!! Kiss

awash......you need to take notes from logjam on this one! Wether you're flying the computer or the real thing, you can't just give up! That goes for life in general. I paid $600 for the setup I have now! Another $75 for some more RAM and I was up and running. P4 w/128mb of RAM, and no "notchiness" or crashing! Mine was a floor model. If you need help, there are other areas here at this sight where you can post questions re your problem.  Wink

Grin Grin Grin  Gotta agree with Otto on this, Don't give up, Man, Hang in there and it will all come together.  You been doing this for 21 years, it cant be just "over".  We all go thru our bad or discouraging times, but just gotta suck back, take a deep breath and break thru that next barrier and keep on truckin', or in this case flyin'.

Don't give it up!!!!  Hang in there and one of those days..........

awash, if you're looking to complete your flight training, but are wondering about the associated costs, I'd suggest you check out www.pilotfinance.com, depending on where you are.

Ok, so I think I grasp this......

Your giving up on flight sim, you've had enough about people not liking your screenshots, but it seems your trying to produce the said screenies on a machine thats simply not upto it!!!

Progress I guess.....

Then, you moan that its expensive to upgrade! - Hello? its always been the same way if my memory of getting new sims to run on old PC's.....

Spend some money, (and I advise you let somebody with plenty of PC knowledge do the spending!) go make some more (far better no doubt!) screenies and come back happy.

Simple. Wink

P.S., I know exactly what your going through, I've spent £££'s getting CFS3 to run anything like I'd want it to....  Angry Sad Roll Eyes

Paul.

Intel 3ghz+ CPUand an FX5900. Combine these two, and I think you'll stop moaning!

No, you'll have no problems. In fact, quite the opposite, it'll be wonderful! The problem with your Intel graphics is that they're being processed onboard, by the processor. And there's only so much work a processor can do. Even the very fastest ones will struggle occasionally.

The invention of the graphics card meant that the processor could concentrate on more important things, whilst the graphics card drew the graphics. And the Geforce 4 series of graphics cards are really good, so it'll have no trouble drawing awesome graphics really quickly.

Upgrading is expensive...but worth it!

I think if anyone needs a reason to leave, they should take another look at the first page of this thread.  We come off as bunch of a$$holes.  I wouldn't consider several of them helpful.
