I was just watching a Science News program. This episode was following students from the University of Waterloo (in Ontario) to an unusual RC competition in Georgia USA. There are several challenging corses to fly. The corse Waterloo chose to fly was an attempt to fly an RC aircraft through the open window of a building, take a picture of an object inside and fly out another window. Now here's the kicker, you have no control of the airplane. Several universities got involved in this competition. Their goal was to each build a complete robotic aircraft. The aircraft must be able locate its target, fly to its target, and complete its goal all without any human imput.

You can see the story here at   http://www.exn.ca/video/?Video=exn20030909-robo-plane.asx
There's more articles about this at www.exn.ca

................I have a t-shirt from there, given to me by Tom McCann of SkyHooks and Rigging, a company speciallizing in indoor electric radio control supplies.  When I lived in Ontario, I did lots of test- and demo-flying for Tom. He is on the cutting edge of miniaturization of radio recv'rs, electronic speed controls, and assorted control actuators.
